Due to our ever-growing portfolio of national projects, we are seeking to build out our EHV team and require skilled professionals to help us on this journey.  A newly created role within the business supporting eSmart Networks expansion, the Electrical Site Manager will join our Extra High Voltage Operational team to assist with the overall operational delivery of EHV projects.

This is a pivotal role bringing Electrical Installation assurance on a portfolio of EHV projects, overseeing the technical and operational assurance of EHV projects throughout the UK, through strong management skills in accordance with the companies Health, Safety, and Quality standards and IDNO/DNO G81 standards.

So what will I be doing?
As Electrical Manager you will support the Project Manager(s) with successful project delivery as well as driving team performance and a positive Health and Safety culture.  You will be ensuring that works are carried out to an exceptional standard and in accordance with specifications by utilising effective leadership skills, audits and reporting.

A key part to the role will be to provide technical knowledge to the site-based project team to ensure the correct planning of the project, making sure that the hardware, materials and resource are suitable to complete all works to standard. 

You will plan the electrical aspect of a EHV project by determining specifications, selecting contractors, establishing installation schedules, verifying requirements and updating cost estimates. 

In delivering this role, you will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • The day to day management of each site electrical activity.
  • Reporting any out of scope works back to the Project Manager to ensure that additional works are captured.
  • Ensuring that H&S requirements are being adhered to at all times and act as a champion on all matters rising from HSQE.
  • Assisting the PM in key tasks associated to client sites whilst adhering to DNO/IDNO specification.
  • Assisting in the management of NERS accreditation.
  • Ensure the delivery of necessary Handover Packs and QA these to ensure quality.
  • Implementing and monitoring productivity, quality and customer service standards across all projects. 
  • Assess works completed by a 3rd party to allow sign off Verifying at each stage of a project.

The Person:
To be successful within this role, you will have a strong enthusiasm and positive attitude along with a passion for exceptional workmanship and high standards.
You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent planning and organisation skills given the fast-paced environment. 

You will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently whilst being highly organised with attention to detail.  leadership with be key and you will have to be able to motivate your team(s), demonstrating your ability to coach colleagues where needed.

You will have knowledge in the following areas: 

  • Extra High Voltage Substation builds
  • DNO and an IDNO utilities sector.
  • NERS accreditation scheme. 
  • Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • HV/LV networks. 
  • CDM Regulations.

We are seeking an individual with a minimum qualification of an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation works.  C&G 2391 testing would be desirable. 

You will also have:

  • NRSWA, SMSTS and ESUR (SHEA) cards.
  • Experience within a DNO or ICP in the Design and Construction of HV & EHV Systems.
