EHV Construction Manager

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Due to our ever-growing portfolio of national projects, we are seeking to build out our EHV team and require skilled professionals to help us on this journey.  A newly created role within the business supporting eSmart Networks expansion, the Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing direct and subcontract works bringing together the various disciplines of Electrical, ICP and Civil works.

Supporting the Project Manager(s) with successful project delivery, you will also drive team performance and create a positive Health and Safety culture.

So what will I be doing?
As a senior member of the eSmart Networks management team, you will contribute and assist with the development of company strategy and Business Plan.  You will implement and oversee policies, processes, procedures and risk management for the Construction function of a project.

Taking day to day management of the EHV Construction Site, you will complete site inspections, coordinating and managing Electrical and Civil supervisors/contractors.

Other duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Being able to compile and present reports on quality & performance. 
  • Ensure CDM compliance throughout project lifecycle.
  • Lead the Construction teams and be accountable for site construction, engineering support and planning for successful delivery of ICP, Electrical and Civil Infrastructure works. 
  • Ensure Asset is constructed in line with network standards and overseeing submission of information in line with IDNO, DNO and other regulatory bodies’ standards. 
  • Ensure that work planning and delivery optimises the profitability of schemes.
  • Exhibit the company approach to customer service and influence this with the team and to key stakeholders. 
  • Lead by example in regards to eSmart Networks Health and Safety compliance in all aspects of operations ensuring that safe working practices are in place and being adhered to. 

The Person:
We are seeking an individual with a Civil Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering background within Construction, who his skilled in the successful management, supervision and delivery of multiple utility projects.  

You will possess exceptional leadership, motivational and people skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain compelling relationships.

Experience & Qualifications:
You will have demonstrable working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to Electricity Distribution and Construction Management.

You will also hold SMSTS qualification as well as have knowledge and understanding of the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS).
