This is a key position responsible for the Civil’s Department’s performance and activities of all Civil Staff and Operatives. To liaise with colleagues in eSmart Networks to ensure best practice is shared across regions with peers. Driving a positive H&S culture and pro-active approach in developing eSmart Networks service offering.

What will you be doing?

As Civils Manager you will have the ability to lead and develop a highly focused team to meet deadlines and be skilled in the successful management, supervision and delivery of Projects. Also:

  • Overall responsibility for the Civil projects delivered in line with both internal and external customers’ expectations and in accordance with Industry Standards and Best Practice;
  • Commercial awareness of contract performance including Unit Cost Indicators, Sub-contract and Material Management;
  • To review the works schedule to ensure tasks are undertaken and the correct resources are in place, KPI Data Analysis and Process Performance;
  • Assist and support the Head of Construction in the development of the Operations department and offering;

The Person we are looking for:

To be successful within this role you will have a strong proven background within a similar operational position. Someone who can offer civils knowledge and advice to the wider team. We would also be looking for:

  • Previous experience within a management or supervisory position
  • Proven experience of developing and mentoring personnel
  • NRSWA, SMSTS, EUSR. and CSCS cards/certification
  • Operational experience for assessing risk. Identification of associated risk, preventative measures, management system procedures and methods of communication
  • Knowledge of highways and developer sector
  • Ability to work on own initiative with a self-motivated approach
  • Ability to investigate, resolve or escalate both internal and external customer issues and requirements.
