Why work for us?

We work hard to ensure that working at eSmart Networks is a rewarding place for our people.  When you join our team, you will see our values in action every day. Our culture defines how we work together, and we work hard to create a resilient culture that will inspire everyone, whatever our position.

Our business success is built on its people.  We believe that everyone matters because if we want to go further, we go together and that’s why we support each other to be our best.

We seek continuous improvement, rather than pursuing perfection and that applies as much to our people as it does to our process. Talented people will always challenge assumptions, find a better way of doing things and then work together to make it happen.

We’re clear and straightforward. We’re trusted because we keep our word.

Wellbeing

At eSmart Networks we're committed to creating an environment that enables our people to prioritise their wellbeing and take care of themselves.

We provide our people with a range of wellbeing resources and toolkits so it's there when they need it, including access to wellbeing apps, online resources and benefits through our Perks & Benefits programmes.

We have a range of wellbeing services to help support our people, including access to a wellbeing portal, online resources and support through our Employee Assistance Programme.

We regularly hold events to help bring people together, whether that's to encourage conversation, raise awareness or to simply celebrate each other.

Our Hiring Experience

Our recruitment process is designed to get the best from you, as well as providing you with a good understanding of what our organisation is like to work for. Our process provides an open, honest, and fair opportunity for everyone.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of who we are. We know that having varied perspectives helps generate better ideas to solve the complex problems of a changing and increasingly diverse world, therefore, we want to ensure that you feel supported throughout the application process and provide reasonable adjustments where necessary. If you require any reasonable adjustments as part of your application and interview process, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Seen a role that you like the look of?

We encourage you to explore as much about the role as you can, then to apply through our website. Our online application is simple to complete and was designed to gather basic background information about yourself, and depending on the role you’re applying for, there might be additional key questions.

Once we have received your application, we will cross-check it to ensure it matches the candidate specification. We will let you know next steps usually around the closing date for the application.

If we think you might be the right candidate for the role, but we require further information, our Talent Acquisition team might give you a quick 10–15-minute call to ask a few informal questions.

This isn’t part of the formal interview process but gives us the opportunity to gather enough information to decide whether to take you forward to interview, but also gives you the chance to ask any questions you may have.

If you meet the requirements of the role, we will invite you for a first stage interview. This will either be face-to-face at one of our offices, or alternatively will be held virtually by video call.

This structured interview will be based on the essential and desirable skills that we are looking for. It also gives you the chance to talk about your skills, experience and what attracted you to the role.

This is your chance to show off your best work and give examples from your career to date that demonstrates the competencies we are looking for. It is also a good idea to ask us questions so you can understand the company and role in more detail.

If we think that you are a good fit for the role after your first interview, we will ask you to attend a second stage interview.

This will usually be face-to-face at one of our offices, but again might be held virtually by video call.

Very rarely will we ask you to attend more than two interviews.

After we conclude each round of interviews, we will decide if we are going to take you forward to the next stage, or if we want to offer you the role after the final stage.

We will inform you as soon as possible after your interview, usually in no more than five working days.

Our Talent Acquisition team will either call or email you to give feedback on the entire process. We always endeavour to give you personalised, constructive, honest, and useful feedback.

For certain roles you might be asked to attend an assessment centre. These are usually for half-day events where you will attend with other candidates and participate in a combination of activities to help us assess your suitability for the job you have applied for.

We will let you know if you are required to attend an assessment centre in advance and if you will be expected to prepare anything for the session.

To ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to join our team, please inform us if you require any reasonable adjustments to our recruitment and interview process, by emailing: recruitment@esmartnetworks.co.uk as soon as you are invited to any stage of the interview process.

After accepting an offer, we will send you your contract, any forms you need to complete relating to your job, and your offer letter, all within 48 hours, through our online onboarding system.

All you need to do is read them carefully to make sure all the details are correct, and then complete/return the forms and accept your contract.

We use a partner company to carry out our referencing checks. Soon after receiving your offer of employment, we’ll email you a link so that you can setup an online profile for referencing.

Naturally, there will be a few practical aspects to organise for when you start with us, such as your equipment. Our People Team will arrange an induction – usually on your first day – that covers all the important information you need for working for us. This is also another chance for you to ask any other questions about working here.
